It all started when…

In 2007 a longtime friend asked me to “paint” her childhood home. Trained in Architectural and Interior Design, I had never picked up a paintbrush - I was adept in tight architectural drawings, not paint. Being a good friend, I said that I would try, and that day changed my life forever. I painted that house, and it was truly a “heavens opening” moment for me. I was born to paint. Since that day, I have painted over 635 cities and towns across the US, many versions of SEC, ACC, and other colleges, a million more houses - pets - and more. I’ve always loved art and when I came to the University of Georgia in 1998, I fell in love with the Athens art scene. Being a poor college student, I was unable to purchase original artwork, and just admired it in galleries, shops, and shows. When I started painting - I wanted to capture a feeling and a moment in time and make my art accessible to everyone. After a lot of original painting, trial and error, I developed Heidi Hensley Art as a brand of art infused products- along with still selling original paintings. I decided to bring my art into the everyday, calling them an “Artful Reminder” of your favorite college, or town, or public icon. I paint every day and I truly get to do what I love thanks to the support of collectors and each one of you.
